The AJM CloudDancer Scholarship hosted it’s first annual Black Tie Gala on October 15th, 2022 at the CR Smith Museum.  It’s our pleasure to report we had a very successful night with a “sold-out” venue.

Numerous dignitaries from the military and aviation industry were in attendance.  General Steven Polk, Kevin Lacy, Chief of Staff Michael Davis, and Parker County Attorney John Forrest, just to name a few.  Numerous photographers were there to document the event as well as Editor Randy Keck of The Community News of Parker County.
The night kicked off with attendees being greeted by a uniformed Coast Guard member and escorted to the “red carpet” for our paparazzi experience.  Each attendee was also given a “challenge coin” that marks the beginning of this annual event for years to come.

A social hour with an open bar for “meet and greet” followed the entrance where each person had an opportunity to view and bid on numerous silent auction items donated by our generous sponsors Many of them took the opportunity to take additional photographs on the historic Flagship DC-3 as well.

Our guest then proceeded to dinner where they received a 3 course meal prepared by FarmHous Catering of Dallas.  During the meal, entertainment was provided by Comedian Ryan Perrio, followed by a video tribute and inspirational song sung by Ms. Alexis Spaulding.  Capt. Neil Raaz announced our scholarship winners with a short bio on each.  Afterwards, Lt. General Steven Polk (USAF Ret) gave our keynote speech to the group followed by more comedy.

After dinner, Col. Pete Setian kicked off the live auction with items such as vacations to Cancun, Private jet Charters, Custom hand-made boots and more.  At the conclusion of the auction, DJ Rudy Duron kicked off the final hour with music for drinks and dancing.

At the conclusion of the night, our proceeds exceeded $61,500 for the foundation; a testament to the sheer volume of people that Ashton had touched in some degree, albeit before and after his life journey had ended.  We want to extend a hardy “thank you” to all of sponsors whom without, this event would not have been possible.

The AJM CloudDancer Scholarship foundation looks forward to next year’s event and hope that if you missed this one, we will see you at the next one.
